February 30 may be “the date that never was”, but in Dubai? It’s here and it’s happening. Opening its doors on Palm West Beach, the local outpost of this buzzing Beirut concept will carry forward its surrealist and eclectic DNA, boasting a multifaceted identity of lounge, restaurant and beach bar – in fact, there are three bars to choose from, including a striking circular one that overlooks the glistening waters of Palm Jumeirah.
Promising more than your typical bar bites when it comes to food, February 30 has tapped the highly sought-after Chef Reif Othman to take the reins in creating a beautifully simple, yet deliciously impactful offering that aligns perfectly with its easy-going vibe. The menu is internationally inspired, melding Mediterranean and Japanese influences – think: sushi rolls, tacos and burgers alongside Italian favourites like pasta and risotto. Unusual cocktails, meanwhile, will fuel a soundtrack of tropical house music, an upbeat and happy mix of Afrobeats and the latest hits.
Championing everything that is unique and eclectic, this impressive outdoor lounge is a haven that is set to excite the senses in a timelessly chic and breathtakingly beautiful setting. The beachfront venue features natural and earthy elements fused with bold colours, loud prints and vibrant patterns. Lush greenery entwines the space, whilst pulsating bursts of red and monochrome make February 30 stand out from the muted masses. We’re told to expect the weird and wonderful here – you may even see a shark peek out of the ceiling to say hello!
Rabih Fakhreddine, Founder and CEO of 7 Management, said, “It is with immense pride that we announce the launch of the fifth brand of 7 Management in the UAE market, another incredible homegrown Beirut brand. We are delighted to see the first February 30 outpost come to life, expanding exponentially from a pub in Hamra street in Beirut to a bustling beach bar and restaurant in Palm West Beach. The iconic location on Palm Jumeirah mirrors the phenomenal growth of February 30 in a 10-year period.” Rabih Geha, who designed the space, added, “February 30 Dubai reflects both the eccentricity of the brand and the serenity of the location. Here, chaos and chimera reconcile with harmony and substance, and spark off a space where the unusual seems commonplace and the phantasmic seems real.”
